Job Description
Role & responsibilities:
Experienced AWS DevOps Engineer with expertise in deploying and managing cloud-based applications using AWS services. Skilled in setting up highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructures while implementing DevOps best practices.
Key Responsibilities
AWS DevOps Engineer - Key Responsibilities (with Azure as an Added Advantage & IaC Expertise)
1. Deploying workloads on AWS EC2 instances behind an Application Load Balancer (ALB) for scalability and high availability.
2. Implementing high availability (HA) architectures using multi-AZ deployments for applications.
3. Collaborating with teams to design and deploy two-tier and three-tier application architectures on AWS.
4. Modernizing legacy applications by containerizing them with Kubernetes, EKS both on on-premises and cloud environments.
5. Setting up CI/CD pipelines for legacy and containerized applications, enabling automated deployments for lower environments and manual approvals for production.
6. Configuring monitoring and alerting for cloud-based applications using AWS CloudWatch, SNS, and other observability tools.
7. Implementing best practices for scanning application servers, container images, and infrastructure components for vulnerabilities.
8. Enforcing AWS security best practices, including Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF, and IAM policies to protect cloud environments.
9. Configuring AWS CloudTrail logs to monitor and audit API activity across AWS accounts.
10. Setting up and managing compliance policies by configuring and updating mandatory security rules within AWS.
11. Configuring AWS CloudFront with S3 as the caching backend to optimize content delivery and performance.
12. Setting up and managing AWS RDS (Relational Database Service) according to application and performance requirements.
13. Configuring AWS Athena for analyzing and querying CloudTrail and WAF logs for security and compliance insights.
14. Setting up AWS Firehose streams to collect and analyze WAF logs for real-time monitoring.
15. Enforcing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for IAM users to enhance security posture.
16. Conducting vulnerability scans on EC2 instances and container images using AWS-native and third-party security tools.
17. Deploying cloud resources using Terraform and Ansible, ensuring automated, repeatable, and scalable infrastructure management.
18. Implementing best practices for IaC, including maintaining Terraform state files, version control, and modular code structure for better manageability and collaboration.
19. Experience working with Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), Azure Load Balancer, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
20. Implementing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
21. Configuring Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Security Center for monitoring and security.
22. Managing Azure AD, role-based access control (RBAC), and compliance policies for cloud security.
