Role Overview:
We are seeking a Functional Tester with 3u201310 years of experience to join our Capital Markets QA team. The ideal candidate will have strong domain knowledge, technical aptitude in testing complex financial systems, and hands-on experience with functional, API, and backend testing tools. This is a critical role requiring a keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform functional testing of capital markets applications to ensure system accuracy and compliance with business requirements.
- Conduct API testing using tools such as SoapUI and Postman .
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data flows and backend logic.
- Utilize Unix commands for log analysis and issue debugging.
- Understand and validate data structures in XML and JSON format.
- Collaborate with development, business analysts, and other QA teams for effective issue resolution.
- Document test cases, test results, and contribute to test strategy improvements.
- Report and track defects through the defect lifecycle.
- (Optional) Work with FitNesse for automated acceptance testing (if applicable).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3u201310 years of hands-on experience in functional testing with strong attention to detail.
- Mandatory domain experience in Capital Markets u2013 understanding of trading, settlements, or financial products.
- Proficient in API testing tools : SoapUI, Postman.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and data validation techniques.
- Hands-on experience in debugging via Unix/Linux commands .
- Basic understanding of XML and JSON file structures.
