Job Description

Desired Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in PostgreSQL Administration.
• Expertise in diagnosing and addressing database performance issues using performance monitors and tuning techniques.
• Support for database copies from production to test/development environments.
• Hands-on maintenance and administration of Linux-based database systems.
• Experience with database migrations and fine-tuning configurations.
• Capacity planning and automation of day-to-day tasks.
• Experience in root cause analysis for business-impacting issues.
• Proficiency in backup and recovery processes.
• Designing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity plans for various database types.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
• Basic knowledge of MSSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle is an advantage.
• Knowledge of storage systems, servers, operating systems, and application interactions.
• Ability to document processes and procedures clearly.
• Capability to work calmly under pressure and manage multiple ongoing projects effectively.
• Installation and configuration of PostgreSQL software.
• Creation and management of PostgreSQL databases and clusters.
• Development of procedures for automated monitoring and proactive interventions to minimize downtime.
• Regular maintenance of databases (e.g., vacuuming, reindexing, archiving).
• Management of database storage structures and user security.
• Implementation of database auditing and performance management.
• Query tuning and optimization.
• Understanding of backup and recovery concepts, including performing database backups and recovery processes.
