Job Description
Job Profile:
Delta Global Inc., Japan is seeking a seasoned Civil Engineer with a valid CCPP (Combined Cycle Power Plant) and Japanese Language Proficiency (JLPT N3 min) with 5-8 years of industry experience to join our project execution team. The candidate will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and oversight of civil infrastructure for CCPP projects.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical or civil engineering from a recognized university.
- Proficiency in Japanese (minimum JLPT N3 level) speaking, reading, and writing.
- Familiarity with international and Japanese engineering codes and standards.
- Willingness to relocate to and work in Japan long-term.
- Experience with 3D design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Execution
Assist in the day-to-day execution of civil activities such as excavation, foundation works, concreting, and structural installations.
Monitor construction progress and ensure execution is as per approved civil drawings, specifications, and project standards.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure quality and timely delivery of civil works.
2.Technical Support
Review and interpret civil engineering drawings, structural layouts, and site development plans.
Support the preparation of method statements, checklists, and inspection/test reports for civil work activities.
Assist in resolving site-related technical issues in coordination with senior civil and structural engineers.
3.Quality & Safety
Ensure all civil works comply with QA/QC procedures, material specifications, and industry best practices.
Conduct site inspections, identify deviations, and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where necessary.
Promote and enforce safety awareness, ensuring all civil activities adhere to HSE policies and site safety protocols.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate daily/weekly site logs, progress reports, and documentation related to civil work.
Track material usage, manpower deployment, and work progress to support project planning and reporting.
Assist in preparing civil progress updates and submitting reports to senior management and project control teams.
5. Coordination & Communication
Liaise with local vendors, subcontractors, and authorities to ensure effective civil work execution.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical) to ensure integrated site progress.
If required, support technical translation or communication with international stakeholders, ensuring alignment between internal teams and external consultants or clients.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Language:
Japanese Language Proficiency JLPT N3 (minimum)
Good command of English (spoken and written)
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical codes and standards, including Japanese (JIS) and international standards (e.g., ASME, API).
- Strong project coordination and time management abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on practical solutions.
Software Skills:
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Project (Primavera is a plus).
