Job Description
Must Have- Minimum 7 to 15 years of experience, including at least 5 to 7 years of focused experience in SP3D; proficiency in additional 3D software is preferred.
- Required: Strong knowledge and experience in piping design using SP3D and AutoCAD.
- Desired: Experience in (a) SPPID drafting, (b) E3D, or (c) CadWorx.
- Proficiency in at least two of the above-mentioned software, with priority given to a > b > c.
Responsibilities:
- Should have worked on Mid-level to large scale projects in oil and gas industry and on refinery projects
- Should have experience of fired heaters / reformers, modular units
- Should have experience of preparation of unit plot plan / equipment arrangement plan, tie-in drawing generation
- Piping study, according to design basis and plant layout
- Knowledge of 3D design software - Must have - SP3D and AutoCAD + additional knowledge and experience of SPPID (drafting) E3D, CAD Worx, MicroStation etc. is an added advantage.However, competency in more than one software is preferred
- Must be familiar with piping codes and standards
- Should have performed piping designing of standard piping modules like pump piping, column piping, exchanger piping, tank piping, vessel / drum piping, pipe rack piping, haters / reformers piping, modular units and skids etc.
- Should have knowledge of various piping concepts like steam tracing, jacketed piping, IBR piping, concepts of pipe supporting, and stress analysis
- Should be familiar with statutory regulations and requirements of refinery and petrochemical industry, like OISD, PESO, NFPA standards
Skills,
- Should have knowledge of piping / equipment operation and maintenance requirements to be taken care while developing layout
- Should know Isometric and piping GA drawing extraction, preparation, and self - checking
- Clash & consistency, to do error list resolution, preparing and checking of piping deliverables like isometrics, piping GADs, vendor GADs, preparation of line list, nozzle orientation of equipment etc.
- Modelling of piping, equipment, structural - civil, electrical & instrumentation items and generation of drawings using 3D design tools
- Conducting Model review with Navisworks
- Knowledge of BOM and various other report extraction for piping items
- Should have knowledge of piping material specification
- Review and checking of 3D model
- Conducting various checks to improve quality of piping deliverables
- Co-checking & commenting drawings from vendors and other disciplines
- Should be conversant with P&IDs, instrument hook ups structural drawings, vendor drawings of equipment and valves etc. and its effect on piping engineering
- Capable of taking on responsibility and working independently with minimal supervision
- Timely completion of tasks with quality output Knowledge and Required Level :
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is the minimum qualification; higher qualifications will be considered an advantage.
