As a Cloud Architect, you will lead the design, architecture, and large-scale deployment of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) compute and storage capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions, ensuring they meet organizational goals and align with industry best practices. This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud architecture and the ability to design and implement infrastructure at an enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and design large-scale, scalable cloud solutions for GCP compute and storage infrastructure, emphasizing performance, security, and reliability.
- Develop reusable architecture patterns, blueprints, and frameworks to standardize cloud deployments across the organization.
- Lead the deployment of cloud services at scale, ensuring seamless integration, automation, and optimization using technologies such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm (nice to have).
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to design end-to-end cloud solutions that meet business requirements, focusing on high availability, fault tolerance, and cost optimization.
- Certify cloud architectures and services in a Life Sciences services environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Drive the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, identity and access management (IAM) policies, and security frameworks to support large-scale deployments.
- Oversee and guide cloud automation efforts, leveraging modern tooling to reduce manual intervention and ensure consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in cloud deployments and ensure the continuous performance of large-scale infrastructure.
- Document architectural decisions, deployment processes, and operational standards to ensure clarity and alignment across teams.
- Stay at the forefront of cloud technology advancements to proactively incorporate innovative solutions into the organizations infrastructure strategy.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering, Life Sciences services preferred, with a proven track record of designing and deploying solutions at enterprise scale.
- Expertise in GCP architecture, with a focus on compute, storage, and networking services.
- Strong experience cloud automation tooling and Terraform.
- Knowledge of container orchestration and deployment at scale using Kubernetes and Helm (nice to have).
- Experience in designing and certifying solutions in regulated environments, preferably Life Sciences services.
- Advanced knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, identity and access management (IAM), and security frameworks for enterprise-scale deployments.
- Proven ability to create and present high-level architectural designs and outputs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience managing large, complex projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting
- Certifications in GCP or equivalent cloud platforms (e.g., GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
