Job Description
What you will do :
Creates and maintains conceptual, logical and physicaldata models using established enterprise tools and best practices
Conducts Business Requirements Analysis and educates thevarious project teams on the proper usage of data structures
Analyzes functional and non-functional businessrequirements and translates into technical data requirements and create orupdate existing logical and physical data models
Facilitates data modeling sessions ranging frominformation gathering to model validation
Creates data architecture sections of the overall systemdesign artifact
Expertise in the design of Relational data structuresalong with data warehouses, data marts and data mining
Is accountable for analyzing and developing complexlogical database designs, logical data models and relational data definitionsin support of corporate and information systems requirements
Understands methodologies and technologies that depictflow of data within and between technology systems and businessfunctions/operations
Is responsible for the identification and resolution ofinformation flow, content issues and the transformation of businessrequirements into logical data models
Responsible for maintaining and generating designdocuments such as logical and physical data models, data dictionaries etc.
Identifies opportunities to reduce data redundancy, trendsin data uses and single sources of data
Understands the importance of data and come up withrecommendations to segregate Protected Health Information (PHI) and PersonallyIdentifiable Information (PII) data elements to comply with the HealthInsurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) security mandates
Participates in data model reviews and ensure the modelscomply with the company standards and policies
Supports Production Operations as necessary
Supports defining data management standards, bestpractices and guidelines.
Interacts with all levels of the organization in aprofessional, diplomatic, and tactful manner
Continues enhancing own skills on new practices,frameworks and standards
Whoyou are:
Education& Experience:
Bachelors or masters degree in computerscience, Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in InformationTechnology.
6+ years of Data Modeling experience.
Technical Skills
Experience evaluating data from multiple sources,reconciling conflicts, decomposing high-level data into details as well as takedetails and bring to higher level for general communication. Experience withdata profiling, cleansing and conforming rules.
Experience with interpreting business informationrequirements to create new and update existing Conceptual, Logical, Physical(both dimensional and relational) data models in OLTP, ODS / OLAP (datawarehouse) and integration environments.
Experience with a host of commercial data modeling toolsincluding Erwin Data Modeler and Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.
Experience creating SQL queries to perform data profilingand determine cleansing and conforming requirements without tools mandatory.
Experience in ETL, Data Warehousing, ODS Data Marts andperformance tuning methods.
Experience or ability to quickly make use of query toolssuch as TOAD, Oracle SQL Developer, etc.
Knowledge of emerging modeling techniques.
Experience in physical data modeling for Oracle.
Healthcare domain knowledge or ability to quickly pick upbusiness processes and impacts on information/data.
Ability to communicate with others in a diverse businessand IT environment from both cultural and experience aspects.
Ability to build consensus and understanding acrossbusiness and IT.
Should have good communication and writing skills.
Candidates must be willing to work in an energetic, fastpaced and team-oriented development environment.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively is anecessity.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
BS in Computer Science or related discipline.
Experience in healthcare/insurance project is preferred.
Experience with State/Federal government projects ispreferred.
Working knowledge of AWS cloud services such as S3, Glue,DataBrew etc.
Experience in MDM, Data Governance methodologies ispreferred.
SoftSkills:
English Language proficiency is required to effectively communicate in a professionalenvironment.
