Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure high availability and uptime of the enterprise network infrastructure.
- Regularly validate, update, and enforce security standards across deployed network systems.
- Continuously monitor network performance and promptly address any anomalies or issues.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, security breaches, and performance bottlenecks.
- Implement robust security protocols to mitigate unauthorized access and network threats.
- Manage and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of network configurations and all changes made.
- Create and update network diagrams and documentation to support troubleshooting and audits.
- Collaborate effectively with internal IT teams, external vendors, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth and secure network operations.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Education: Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or Engineering in Computer Science, Electronics, or related fields.
- Experience: 12 years of relevant experience in network administration or support.
- Certifications:
- Mandatory: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
- Preferred: CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong understanding of the OSI model and IPv4 networking concepts
- Foundational knowledge of VLANs and port security
- Basic to intermediate understanding of firewall technologies including NAT, ACLs, routing policies, and VPNs
- Familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts
- Working knowledge of network protocols and services such as DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and Syslog
- Experience in basic switch and router configuration
- Understanding of Spanning Tree Protocol
- Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols (basic level), particularly OSPF
SOFT SKILLS
- Strong logical reasoning and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving
OTHER SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily network health checks and scheduled tasks
- Analyze network offenses and escalate incidents as needed
- Correlate security event logs with datacenter and application logs to identify potential threats
- Maintain and follow incident response procedures for timely resolution and documentation
