Job Description
A Duty Engineer is responsible for the operational maintenance and repair of a facility's technical systems and equipment, often within a hotel or similar setting. They respond to guest requests, conduct preventative maintenance, and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all building systems.
Key Responsibilities of a Duty Engineer:
Maintenance and Repair:
Responding to maintenance requests, troubleshooting issues, and performing repairs on various building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
Preventative Maintenance:
Implementing and overseeing preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment longevity and prevent breakdowns.
Supervision:
May supervise a team of technicians or contractors, ensuring work quality and adherence to safety standards.
Emergency Response:
Responding to emergencies and critical situations, such as fire or equipment failure.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining logs, documentation, and reports related to maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and procedures.
Coordination:
Collaborating with other departments (e.g., housekeeping, front office) to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
