Medical Coding Specialist @ Clin Biosciences

Job Description

Medical coding specialists translate patient information into standardized codes used for billing and record-keeping. Their responsibilities include accurately assigning codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments, ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines, and maintaining the integrity of patient data.

Key Responsibilities:
• Code Assignment: Translating medical information from patient records into standardized codes (like ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).   
• Documentation Review: Analyzing medical records to identify diagnoses, procedures, and treatments documented during a patient encounter.   
• Compliance: Ensuring adherence to coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements.   
• Accuracy and Quality: Maintaining the accuracy of medical records and codes to ensure proper billing and data integrity.   
• Reimbursement: Using codes to support claims for reimbursement from insurance companies.   
• Data Analysis: Identifying and analyzing data needs for reimbursement and reporting purposes. 

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, chemistry, microbiology or a related field (e.g., medical technology, chemistry, biology). 
• A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in relevant field. 
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
