You will be working as a member of the Mainframe Tech Services infrastructure support team.
Our mission is to provide the IBM system Z infrastructure (hardware and software) required by the ZSolutions business unit R&D, Sales and Customer Support organizations.
You will work in conjunction with the Mainframe Tech Services team members and with the various ZSolutions teams to define, configure, install, modify and make available the appropriate z/OS, z/VM and Linux on z hardware and software products to be used for their product development and testing purposes. In addition, you will be responsible for installing the software service, e.g. IBM RSU & PUT, provided by the manufacturers.
To ensure youre set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
You have 7+ years experience as a systems programmer with knowledge of a current zSeries operating system z/OS.
You have a minimum of five years of systems support background, including a working knowledge of procedures to apply IBM software service.
You are expert with installation, configuration and maintenance processes.
You are expert with IBM products and utilities; prefer experience with BMC utilities.
You have thorough problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to work issues to resolution, and independent work habits are necessary requirements.
You have ability to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks, to remain calm, cordial, and effective during the resolution of time critical system interruptions/difficulties/failures.
You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
You have working knowledge of z/OS systems administration, including USS, TSO, ISPF, SDSF, JES2/JES3, JCL, HCD, SMF, Sysplex, and WLM.
