Assembler Developer @ BMC Software

Job Description

BMC is looking for an Assembler Developer who will be responsible for developing products and solutions according to design specifications. This is an amazing role that will allow you to work on a broad array of critical, unique issues and complex programs and solutions. You will also build prototypes and use other techniques to achieve product definition and design goals.

To ensure youre set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• Around 4 years of experience working with mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS environment.
• Hands-on experience with key technologies like Assembler, JCL, VSAM, ISPF, SDSF, and JES2/3.
• Familiarity with at least one database system such as IMS or DB2, preferably in an Agile setting.
• Good understanding of diagnostics, debugging, and troubleshooting mainframe issues.
• Experience using Agile methods and tools like JIRA for project tracking.
• Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation for applications and features.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle.

Preferred/Desirable Skills (Nice to Have):
Some exposure to SMP/E or z/OSMF.

Familiarity with IBM terms like PTF and APAR

. Interest or experience in Java development on z/OS.
