As a Platform Operations Engineering Manager you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations. First and foremost, you will coach and grow the individuals on your team so they feel supported and engaged. You will also be responsible for keeping track of the projects the teams are working on, facilitating cross-team discussions when necessary and deciding on the future direction of the team (what projects they will focus on next). You will collaborate with UX, Product and other development teams to deliver best-in-class solutions for our customers.
In this role, you will:
Directly manage a team of Platform Operations Engineers by coaching and growing their skills, identifying growth areas, setting expectations and providing feedback
Manage projects and socialize progress across engineering teams and leadership
Keep a keen eye on quality, and continue to drive improvements to standardization, testing, monitoring and alerting
Work closely with other managers and teams across the different product pillars to align efforts and initiatives
Kickstart new ideas, build proof of concepts and jumpstart newly funded projects
The skills you'll bring include:
6+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2+ years of experience in a hands-on managerial role
Previous experience in managing engaged and high performing software engineering teams with a track record in developing and mentoring software engineers at all levels
A demonstrable passion for all things software engineering with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle
Strong design and problem-solving skills with a focus on quality, security, and performance.
Experience working with remote teams and individuals while ensuring agility and velocity.
Background in optimizing platform operations or experience driving standardization initiatives
Ability to communicate and articulate crisply at all levels from executive staff to engineers.
A customer centric approach with the ability to drive that throughout your teams, understanding the customers needs and drivers and putting the customer at the forefront of all decision making
Capable of managing through high-intensity situations when they arise
Experience with the following would be advantageous:
Exposure to/experience with cybersecurity products and cloud infrastructure
Demonstrated track record of hiring strong engineers
