Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Functional Test Engineer who is detail-oriented and proactive, with hands-on experience in manual testing, API testing, and basic SQL. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners. Exposure to automation tools, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies will be considered a plus.

Shift Timings: 2 PM - 11 PM

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform manual functional testing to verify application functionality against business requirements.
• Write and execute basic SQL queries to validate backend data and support testing activities.
• Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Collaborate with the automation team to run existing automated test scripts and log any identified defects.
• Use Azure DevOps for test planning, case execution, and tracking issues.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Track user stories and defects using JIRA.
• Monitor logs and performance metrics using Azure Application Insights to support issue identification.
• Support the QA team in improving test processes, documentation, and overall quality practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in manual functional testing and test case execution.
• Ability to write and understand basic SQL joins for data validation.
• Practical experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Exposure to automation testing frameworks and the ability to execute existing scripts.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for managing and tracking test activities.
• Working knowledge of JIRA for issue tracking and project management.
• Understanding of Agile processes and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Basic knowledge of Azure Application Insights for performance and diagnostic monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB certification or equivalent QA certification.
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium or TestNG.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
