Job Description
Audits medical record documentation to identify the coding accuracy; prepares reports of findings to provide education and training on accurate coding practices. Researches, analyzes, and responds to inquiries regarding inappropriate coding, denials, and billable services. Interacts with Stake holders and other patient care providers (Facility) regarding documentation policies, procedures, and regulations; obtains clarification of conflicting, ambiguous, or non-specific documentation Trains, instructs, and/or provides support to Medical Coding Analysts as appropriate regarding coding Concepts. Reviews, develops, modifies, and/or adapts Facility specific procedures, protocols and updates.
