Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead BI Developer with deep expertise in Tableau and Business
Intelligence solutions to join our growing team. In this role, you will design and develop end-to-end BI solutions that empower data-driven decisions across the organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, manage complex BI environments, and ensure seamless data visualization and reporting.
1. Key Responsibilities
BI Development & Data Visualization
- Design, develop, and maintain complex, scalable Tableau dashboards and visualizations.
- Create data cubes and prepare layered BI models to drive efficient reporting.
- Develop, test, and optimize Tableau reports and business intelligence solutions.
- Evaluate and improve existing BI systems, reports, and dashboards for better performance
and usability.
- Conduct iterative review cycles to ensure deliverables meet or exceed user expectations.
Data Management & Analytics
- Develop and execute optimized SQL queries for large datasets.
- Maintain, support, and enhance data analytics platforms and BI environments.
- Collaborate with data engineering and development teams to integrate data sources and
systems.
- Conduct detailed data analysis and deliver actionable business insights.
Architecture & Design
- Provide technical expertise in BI architecture, solution design, and implementation.
- Work closely with architects to implement best practices in BI and data visualization.
- Maintain consistency in design and code by adhering to internal standards and style guides.
Documentation & Support
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for BI systems and dashboards.
- Resolve support tickets and troubleshoot Tableau-related issues.
- Support migration efforts (e.g. migration from Tableau) when required.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work with business stakeholders and team members to translate complex business
requirements into technical solutions.
- Present findings and insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
2. Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Tableau development, including dashboard creation, visualization design, and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of Tableau architecture and administration.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (MS SQL Server) ability to write efficient and optimized queries.
- Background in data warehouse design (dimensional modeling) and data mining.
- Strong Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, advanced calculations).
- Experience preparing data cubes and using ETL tools.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage directly with clients and stakeholders.
3. Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Google BigQuery, Domo BI, Power BI.
- Understanding of data mart design and development.
- Exposure to ETL tools and processes.
- Experience with migration projects involving Tableau.
- Knowledge of the loan domain and ability to create domain-relevant visualizations and insights.
