Mechanical Design Engineer @ Pressure Tech

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in designing Special Purpose Machines (SPM). The ideal candidate should be proficient in using SolidWorks and have a strong background in concept development, mechanical systems design, and detailing for custom automation or machinery solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPM) from concept to manufacturing.
  
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
  
• Perform calculations and analysis for mechanical components (e.g., stress, torque, material selection).
  
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, and production teams for integrated machine development.
  
• Participate in design reviews, modifications, and continuous improvement efforts.
  
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and support documentation.
  
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications, quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.
  
• Support machine installation, testing, and commissioning as needed.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on Special Purpose Machines.
  
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Drawing, Simulation preferred).
  
• Strong understanding of mechanical components like bearings, actuators, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation elements.
  
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, and assembly.
  
• Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
  
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  
• Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.
