Automation Test Engineer - Cypress QA @ Wissen Infotech

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Framework Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Cypress.
• Ensure scalability, reusability, and maintainability of test scripts.

Test Automation:

• Develop and execute automated test cases for web applications.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results and identify root causes for failures.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with developers, product managers, and QA team members to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.

Defect Management:

• Identify, document, and track software defects in a bug-tracking system (e.g., Jira).
• Work with developers to resolve issues and retest as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

• Drive best practices in test automation and contribute to process improvements.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and tools in test automation.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in QA Automation, with a focus on web application testing.
• Proficiency in Cypress and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing principles and frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI).
• Familiarity with REST APIs and experience testing them.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) is a plus.
• Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is desirable.
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow) is a plus.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.Role & responsibilities
