Job Description

Job Title: Associate Manager / Manager Sales & Business Development (Domestic Market)

Location: Mumbai or Hyderabad


Purpose of Job:

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Sales & Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth in the domestic pharmaceutical market (Maharashtra + potentially Gujarat), focusing on both API and FDF segments. The role involves managing existing clients, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction through solution-based selling. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to build lasting relationships and contribute to sustainable business growth.

Environment of the Job:

Our company has a strong foothold in the domestic market and is known for its commitment to quality and regulatory compliance. This role functions within the regulatory framework governing Indias pharmaceutical industry, including guidelines from DCGI, CDSCO, and related bodies. An understanding of Indian pharma sales practices and compliance standards is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with key domestic clients to ensure repeat business and long-term association.
  • Sales Execution: Implement the domestic sales strategy to meet revenue targets. Ensure timely follow-ups, order closures, and collections.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the domestic market. Conduct market research and stay informed of industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Customer Need Analysis: Understand customer requirements and align internal resources to provide tailored solutions.
  • Coordination & Communication: Act as the communication bridge between customers and internal teams (production, logistics, finance, etc.) to ensure smooth order execution.
  • Issue Resolution: Address client queries and resolve concerns promptly to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain sales reports, client visit summaries, and monthly sales forecasts.

Accountability & Authority:

The role requires adherence to company policies, ethical sales practices, and financial discipline. The position operates with a fair degree of independence but reports regularly to AD Sales & BD.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 4-10 years of proven experience in domestic API/FDF sales in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in B2B sales and customer relationship management.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up capabilities.
  • Bachelors degree in pharmacy / science; MBA in Marketing or related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Hindi; regional language skills are a plus.
