Job Description
To make you aware that we operate under a twin editor model where the first editor is the subject matter expert and the second editor is responsible for checking the assignment for any gaps in context, language, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. The second editors work is sent to the client directly and hence; the second editor is largely responsible for the quality of the assignment delivered to the client. Our second editors play a pivotal role in our business model and help us in ensuring author satisfaction by editing academic papers meant for publication in highly acclaimed international journals, across a vast range of subject areas.
As a second editor, you can comfortably process around 7 to 10 thousand words in a day as these are already worked upon by the first editor who would be a native English speaker and a subject matter expert. Here, at Enago, we believe in setting very high standards for all our editors at all levels.
Qualities we look for in our Editors
- Passion for diligently editing, restructuring, and polishing articles written by non-native speakers and edited by native subject matter experts
- Format manuscripts in terms of citation style, layout, section headings and tense usage to conform with academic conventions
- Preservation of the authors intended meaning even in papers where the content requires extensive revision
- Minimum 2 years of relevant copyediting/academic editing experience
You will be assigned papers of varying difficulty levels (in terms of English, subject matter expertise, and extent of revision needed) edited by native English subject matter experts and originally written by non-native speakers in either English or their native language (translated papers). These papers are written by what we believe constitute an eclectic group of authors and writers, i.e., we receive work from not only scientists, researchers, and students but also corporates, linguists, and common man trying to communicate in English.
Enago is expanding its language editing services and receiving huge research papers which demands for good quality editors who can deliver good quality work to the authors. We help researchers/scholars/academicians to publish articles on TOP impact journals.
