Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Monitoring: Oversee and monitor daily site operations to ensure compliance with safety protocols, policies, and legal regulations.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards. Implement preventive measures to control and mitigate risks.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to identify root causes. Provide recommendations for corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Safety Training: Organize and conduct safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors. Ensure that all workers are educated on emergency procedures, safety equipment, and safe work practices.
- PPE Compliance: Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used correctly and maintained according to safety standards.
- Emergency Preparedness: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and first aid protocols. Conduct regular emergency drills and review procedures.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and compliance activities of the sites. Prepare detailed reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Safety Audits: Participate in regular safety audits, both internal and external, and ensure that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and other personnel to ensure safety regulations are enforced and adhered to throughout daily operations.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science,
Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications:
NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) Certificate
or
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification is mandatory.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Safety Officer in Gulf countries,
with a strong understanding of local regulations and safety standards (e.g., Qatar, UAE, Saudi
Arabia, Kuwait, etc.).
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety laws, regulations, and standards within the Gulf
region, including knowledge of site-specific hazards and the ability to mitigate them.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in safety management software and MS Office.
- Ability to conduct safety inspections and audits.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergencies.
