Were looking for a senior developer to bring their flair and focus to our Mobile App team. The successful candidate will be working on our portfolio of popular Apps, which includes one of the UKs best selling Mobile Apps. With strong review scores and a place at or near the top of the charts, its a product were all very proud of.

You will be heavily involved in how our product roadmap is delivered now and in the future, and be a key player in shaping the strategy of our technology offering.

The Stationery Office (TSO) is part of Williams Lea, the leading global provider of skilled business-critical support services to financial, legal and professional services firms. TSO is a global publisher providing content and technology solutions for our clients.

Our Mobile App platform is a really exciting and innovative product with a great core feature set that were continually enhancing, and we have some awesome features on our roadmap.

The Job:


You will have demonstrable experience in React Native / Expo / Typescript / HTML5, CSS and SASS. Knowledge and experience of Mobile development is expected, with specific experience of working with React Native a distinct advantage. Good knowledge of front-end principles and a passion for producing high quality work is essential.

The successful candidate will be working as a senior engineer in a dedicated Mobile App Development Team within a fast-moving and growing Technology function. Over the past few years, we have invested heavily in our technology, and have built a strategic Mobile App Platform which is migrating from the legacy Ionic / Angular / Capacitor stack to React Native.

Youll be peer reviewing the work of other team members, mentoring and providing feedback to junior team members and working closely with the team leader / product owner and design team as well as working closely with key stakeholders.

Our product roadmap includes multiple exciting and innovative features that you will help architect and build. As a key member of the team you will help shape our strategy and what the offering looks like, deliver excellent code and be a part of something to be proud of.

  • Demonstrate an eye for detail and the ability to turn a design into a pixel-perfect product based on designs/specification
  • Work confidently with UI/UX designers to refine and extend designs
  • Work independently and simultaneously across multiple projects
  • Deliver first class work consistently on schedule as others will be depending on you
  • Write structured, well-documented code to deliver scalable software solutions
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, be able to write clear and concise documentation for technical and non-technical audiences

Key Activities


  • Develop code as per the specifications and coding standards
  • Liaise with senior project stakeholders both verbally and in writing
  • Create and implement unit tests
  • Ensure all code passes unit testing with appropriate code coverage
  • Review Pull Requests of other team members code when required
  • Provide feedback on process to refine where necessary
  • Provide 3rd line Technical support

Key Technologies


Experience in the following technologies is required:

  • React Native / TypeScript / Javascript
  • HTML5, including knowledge of the full range of language features
  • CSS including animation and media queries
  • CSS pre-processors (e.g. Sass, Less)
  • Cross-device compatibility testing and development
  • Accessibility and usability (WAI, WCAG, ARIA)
  • Git and the Gitflow workflow
  • Building responsive layouts
  • J D/BDD and testing frameworks (such as Jasmine, Karma)J
