Job Description
Designation: Senior Designer Electrical- Engineering Design - Global Service Centre
Base Location: Navi Mumbai
Reporting to: Assistant Manager - EIT Engineering - Global Service Centre
Key Role Responsibilities:
Carry out duties assigned by superior for day-to-day operations and to ensure them to compliance
with the established standards and procedures
Prepare project deliverables for electrical engineering, assuring that they are mistake free and in line
with project standards, yard electrical and drafting standards.
Preparation of design drawings following Class rules and guidance from responsible engineer.
Identification, selection, and design of electrical system / equipment for projects, as required
Preparation of detailed & production design and development of 3D model
Producing of production fabrication and installation drawings
Preparation of Bill of Materials, material top-ups requirements, weight calculations
Identification of changes in client provided drawings and documents, preparation mark-ups for
Technical Quarries and variation orders, as required
Carry out intermediate checks and ensure that work in progress is mistake free and those are in line
with project requirements.
Maintain records of issued drawings or deliverable and provide inputs related to progress reports as
per instruction by superiors
Identification of changes in client provided 3D model, drawings, documents, or deliverables and
update responsible engineer.
Participating in inter-discipline checks, 3D models reviews and implementation necessary follow up
actions timely
Guide and supervise the electrical drafting team to produce clash free 3D model and electrical
deliverables
Inspection on board vessel / rig or assemblies for preparation, verification, or improvements.
Review third party technical documents & drawings, as required
Organize and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work
within a specific area of electrical engineering activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally
compliant manner
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes
and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost
reduction and productivity improvement.
Provide accurate inputs required for preparation of departmental reports on time and accurately to
meet company and department requirements, policies, and standards.
Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and
controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Lead Engineer-Electrical in order to contribute to
the continuous operations of the department
Skills & Competencies:
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
Good communication skills in English.
Good knowledge in technical terms and report writing skills.
Knowledge of additional languages are added advantage
Very good knowledgeable with relevant Electrical Safety and Occupational Health & Safety
standards.
Technical knowledge of installation requirements of electrical, control and communication
components & systems in basic, detailed and production stages for marine / offshore platforms etc.
Technical knowledge of testing and commissioning of electrical, control and communication
equipment.
Very good background with identification of technical issues during planning and execution phases
of 3D modelling activities for the project
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and successfully execute tasks in accordance with
business objectives.
Team oriented.

Solution oriented and demonstrated alternative efficient methods & positive thinking.

Minimum Education & Qualifications:
Engineering Draughtsman Diploma / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Proficient with software such as Cadmatic 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, PDF, Microsoft office packages.
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
Experience in power generation, distribution system & safety.
Producing detailed and production engineering drawings for Offshore Platforms, Ships and Rigs.
Experience in preparing cable tray diagrams, cable block diagrams & termination drawings for Ships
and Offshore Platforms.
Desirable Qualifications (Not Mandatory):
Engineering degree in relevant field
Experience on software-based lighting calculations, electrical calculations
Experience on any other software for 3D modelling activities.
Experience in Telecom & Navigation systems
Working experience in shipyard, major Production / Construction sites and heavy industrial segments.
