Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux System Administrator with hands-on experience in Linux server management, virtualization, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of enterprise server environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day Linux server administration and maintenance tasks.
- Manage and troubleshoot L2 issues effectively and independently.
- Ensure smooth operation of virtualized environments (VMware).
- Handle user and group management, as well as access control.
- Install and configure services on servers based on user and project requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server-level issues, including high-priority incidents.
- Manage Logical Volume Management (LVM) and maintain multipathing configurations.
- Diagnose and address hardware issues (e.g., disk, HBA failures).
- Perform regular OS patching and updates to maintain system security and performance.
- Configure and manage DNS and DHCP services.
- Maintain documentation and logs as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and VMware platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of LVM, multipathing, and Linux patch management.
- Experience in handling hardware failures and replacements.
- Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, and other core networking services.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle high-priority issues independently.
- Flexibility to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, VMware VCP, or equivalent.
- Exposure to ITIL framework and ticketing tools like ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.
