Position Title: DevOps Engineer Location: Bangalore, Hybrid Key Skills: Python, Git, Bash, Docker, Atlassian Jira, Atlassian BitBucket The Engineering Operations team at Riverbed is a skilled team of developers who work with other teams to improve engineering productivity. Our team has a high standard for repeatability, reliability, and robustness in the tools and services that we deploy and maintain. Our objective is to streamline engineerings operational practices and drive continuous improvements in quality, reliability, and efficiency. Youll be working with collaborative, motivated, professional engineers who are intent on getting the right result, utilizing cutting-edge methodologies to create new tools and enhance existing ones. We are looking for passionate, out-of-the-box thinkers who want to take pride in building, releasing, and supporting cloud and on-premise applications and appliances. What You Will Do Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design processes/automation based on their requirements Organize/manage larger projects and drive them to completion Explore newer technologies and develop proof of concepts to validate and demonstrate potential solutions Mentor/pair with other members of the team to improve team velocity/capability Develop automation to reduce/remove manual operations (Python, Java, bash, ssh, Linux, git) Improve robustness by adding metrics, monitoring, and automatic recovery (Icinga, DataDog, PagerDuty) Rotate with other team members as first point-of-contact for helping other with tools and services (Jira, Confluence) Add functionality to CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, Jenkins, Bitbucket) Work with the team using agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban) Maintain/update deployments in cloud environments (Ansible, AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, Kubernetes) What Makes You An Ideal Candidate Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience Stong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems and computer networking Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams Experience writing code in an Object-Oriented programming paradigm You are a good programmer that writes readable, testable, and maintainable code Strong Linux skills and have hands on experience to troubleshoot issues Strong and clear communicator that can concisely explain complex software design considerations Team player with a good sense of humor Willing to learn new technologies and skills as necessary What Will Help You Further Programmed in other common scripting languages (Ruby, Perl, JavaScript) Knowledge of best practices for creating and consuming REST APIs Experience writing library level code and python packages What We Offer Our employee benefits including flexible workplace policies, employee resource groups, learning and development resources, career progression pathways, and community engagement initiatives are some of the reasons why we have had great success in bringing in new talent.
