Job Description
We are looking for a seasoned Shopify Architect to join our team during the evening shift (4:00 PM 1:00 AM IST). This role is pivotal in designing and leading the architecture of scalable and high-performing Shopify solutions. You'll work closely with internal teams and clients across time zones to deliver customized eCommerce experiences using Shopify and its ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and lead development of Shopify Plus solutions aligned with business goals.
- Participate in weekly code reviews for updates to our Shopify theme.
- Provide technical solutions for custom features and third-party integrations.
- Audit and strategize monthly tasks to improve ADA compliance and Core Web Vitals.
- Provide technical requirements and contribute to development tasks for small- to medium-sized Shopify theme enhancements and bugs in a 2-week sprint model.
- Deep dive into Shopify dev docs to architect robust solutions:
- Extended Shopify: Checkout, Customer Accounts, Flows
- Storefront (Theme) Development
- GraphQL Admin API / Storefront Front API / Liquid
- Ability to be hands-on for critical fixes, including technical theme updates or PR development.
- Define technical architecture, integration strategies, and deployment workflows.
- Guide and mentor development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and performance optimization.
- Integrate Shopify with custom apps and third-party APIs.
- Monitor and optimize performance, scalability, and security.
- Document architecture, workflows, and technical guidelines.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of overall web development experience, with 5+ years specifically on Shopify/Shopify Plus.
- Proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and modern frameworks like React, Vue, Alpine.js, and Tailwind CSS.
- Strong understanding of Shopify APIs, custom app development, and third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with headless Shopify architecture using Hydrogen or Storefront API.
- Solid experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and agile sprint processes.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate across distributed/global teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience in both B2B and D2C eCommerce models.
- Shopify Functions, Checkout Extensions.
- GraphQL expertise.
- Public and Private Custom App Development.
- Experience with multiple third-party platform integrations.
- Ability to work closely with product managers, QA, and external dev agencies.
