SUMMARY OF ROLE
Equifax Workforce Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in Human Capital Management (HCM) systems and their integration capabilities. This pivotal role will support our development teams in designing, building, and optimizing integrations with a diverse range of HCM platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep functional and technical knowledge of various HCM systems, understand their integration options (APIs, file-based, etc.), and be adept at guiding solution design. This individual will act as a key resource for setting up HCM environments for development and testing, troubleshooting integration issues, and ensuring our solutions align with HCM best practices. Experience or familiarity with Agile product development methodologies is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • HCM System Expertise & Consultation:
  • Act as the primary internal expert on the functional and technical aspects of various leading HCM systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud, UKG, etc.).
  • Provide guidance to development teams on HCM system setup, configuration, navigation, and administrative functionalities relevant to integration.
  • Advise on optimal integration strategies (e.g., API utilization, web services, etc) based on specific HCM platform capabilities and project requirements.
  • Research and stay current with new HCM features, API versions, integration technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Be vigilant for changes in partner HCMs that will impact existing integrations and advise on what changes are coming
  • Integration Design & Solutioning:
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and developers to design robust, scalable, and maintainable integration solutions between Equifax products and third-party HCM systems.
  • Assist in defining data mapping, transformation rules, and error handling mechanisms for integrations.
  • Analyze and interpret HCM data models, security protocols, and API documentation to inform integration design.
  • Help identify potential integration challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Development Team Support & Enablement:
  • Assist development and QA teams in setting up and configuring HCM sandbox/test environments for integration development and testing.
  • Provide hands-on support for understanding HCM system behavior, data structures, and process flows.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during the development and testing of HCM integrations.
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation, knowledge bases, and training materials related to HCM systems and integration patterns.
  • Agile Product Development Collaboration:
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog grooming) representing HCM system expertise.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to refine user stories and acceptance criteria related to HCM integrations.
  • Provide estimates for tasks related to HCM system setup, research, and integration solutioning.
  • Vendor & Platform Liaison (as needed):
  • Occasionally interact with HCM vendor support or partnership teams to clarify technical details or resolve complex integration issues.
  • Evaluate new HCM platforms or integration technologies for potential business opportunities.
  • Write and modify documentation to guide users on configuration of an integration within a specific HCM platform
What experience you need
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience working directly with multiple major HCM platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud, UKG, etc.) in a technical, functional, or integration-focused role.
  • In-depth understanding of HCM modules such as Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management, Time & Attendance, and Recruiting.
  • Proven experience with HCM integration technologies and protocols, including REST/SOAP APIs, Web Services, SFTP, and various data formats (JSON, XML, CSV).
  • Strong understanding of data security and privacy considerations relevant to HCM data.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrable experience or strong familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What could set you apart
  • Specific certifications in one or more major HCM platforms.
  • Experience building or supporting integrations for a SaaS product company.
  • Familiarity with integration platforms as a service (iPaaS) solutions (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Workato).
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms commonly used in HCM integrations (e.g., OAuth 2.0, SAML).
  • Experience with data mapping and transformation tools or languages.
  • Understanding of single sign on solutions.
  • Experience working directly with partners and clients with respect to HCM integrations
  • Previous experience working within the Equifax Workforce Solutions ecosystem or with its products.
