Job Description
WANTED : SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEERRenowned Construction firm seeks a Dedicated Civil Engineer for an Iconic upcoming Bungalow Project in Madurai
ROLLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
1. Site Supervision & Execution :
Take full responsibility for day-to-day site activities, ensuring that all civil works are executed as per approved plans, specifications, and timelines.
Monitor work progress, assess site conditions, and resolve any technical or logistical issues that arise during execution.
Ensure effective coordination between various on-site activities such as structural, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and finishing works.
2. Project Planning & Scheduling:
Develop detailed work schedules, timelines, and milestones in coordination with project stakeholders.
Identify potential delays and proactively implement strategies to avoid project overruns.
Participate in planning meetings and review sessions to align execution with overall project goals.
3. Structural and Architectural :
Review and interpret structural, architectural, and service drawings, ensuring flawless integration on-site.
Coordinate closely with architects and consultants to resolve discrepancies or design changes.
Ensure the correct implementation of finishing details, including elevations, joineries, floor finishes, and ceiling treatments.
4. Material Management :
Prepare material requirement plans based on the execution schedule and ensure timely procurement in coordination with the purchase department.
Conduct quantity take-offs and manage material inventories to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Inspect and verify the quality of incoming materials against specifications and standards.
5. Labor Management & Subcontractor Co ordination :
Supervise and lead site labour teams, ensuring proper work allocation, productivity, and discipline.
Coordinate and manage subcontractors for specialized works, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
Maintain a safe and respectful working environment on site.
6. Quality Assurance & Control :
Implement strict quality control measures at every stage of construction.
Prepare and maintain checklists, test records, and inspection reports.
Ensure adherence to relevant IS codes, project specifications, and client requirements.
7. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Track project progress against schedules and report daily/weekly status updates to senior management.
Flag critical issues, delays, or deviations from the plan and propose corrective actions.
Maintain site documentation including work logs, photographs, contractor bills, and correspondence records.
Maintain clear, timely, and respectful communication between all project stakeholders.
9. Cost Monitoring & Budget Adherence
Monitor on-site expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Validate contractor/vendor bills based on actual work done and ensure cost control.
Suggest cost-effective construction practices without compromising on quality.
10. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all workers comply with safety guidelines.
Identify and mitigate potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS :
Education:
Bachelor's degree OR Master degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience:
15 + years of experience in civil construction projects, including site supervision and project management.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, structural analysis software (like ETABS or SAP2000), and knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage teams, oversee construction activities, and ensure project quality and safety.
