Job Description
Reporting To: Project Manager / Director - Engineering
Department: Civil / Construction / Infrastructure
Job Summary:
- We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer to lead and manage civil engineering projects from planning through execution.
- The role involves overseeing design, construction, and quality control, while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects (e.g., buildings, roads, infrastructure).
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare project budgets, timelines, and resource plans, and monitor progress to ensure milestones are met.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work is performed as per approved plans and quality standards.
- Resolve technical issues on-site and provide engineering guidance to junior staff and site teams.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Oversee preparation of reports, estimates, and tender documents.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and other technical staff.
- Liaise with government authorities and attend project meetings as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Professional certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PE, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in civil engineering and project management.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and project management tools.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project, and other relevant software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and quality assurance processes.
Work Conditions:
- Primarily site-based with office coordination.
- May require travel to multiple project sites.
- Working under tight deadlines with responsibility for large-scale projects.
