Job Description

Job Title: Operations Manager - Catering


Job Summary: The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our catering

division, ensuring the seamless execution of events and efficient management of resources. This role involves coordinating between various departments, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of quality and service.


Key Responsibilities:


Operational Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of catering staff, including chefs, servers, and event
  • coordinators.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and standards to ensure efficient and effective
  • catering services.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking supplies.

Event Coordination:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements and preferences.
  • Plan and manage logistics for events, including setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Ensure all events are executed according to client specifications and company standards.
  • Staff Management:
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate catering staff.
  • Schedule and allocate staff resources based on event needs and operational demands.
  • Foster a positive work environment and address any staff concerns or issues.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of catering equipment and facilities to maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly to ensure client satisfaction.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for catering operations and events.
  • Monitor and control costs, including labour, supplies, and overhead.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyze performance metrics to drive improvements.

Vendor Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing for catering supplies and services.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and seek opportunities for cost savings and quality enhancements.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or

equivalent work experience).

Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in catering operations or a similar role.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and catering management software.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
