Job Description

Bigbasket.com is looking for AGRONOMIST to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey

• Crop Management:Conduct research on crop varieties, planting methods, and cultivation techniques to maximize yields and quality
• Provide recommendations on crop rotation, pest control, and disease management
• Soil Management:Analyze soil composition and nutrient levels to determine optimal fertilization strategies
• Develop soil conservation plans to prevent erosion and maintain soil health
• Research and Development:Conduct experiments and trials to evaluate the performance of new crop varieties, pesticides, and farming technologies
• Stay abreast of advancements in agronomy and contribute to the development of innovative farming practices
• Precision Agriculture:Utilize technology, such as GPS and remote sensing, to implement precision agriculture practices for more efficient resource use
• Implement data-driven decision-making for crop management
• Advisory Services:Work closely with farmers to provide advice on agronomic practices, including planting schedules, irrigation methods, and pest control measures
• Conduct on-site visits to assess crop conditions and address specific concerns
• Environmental Stewardship:Advocate for sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices
• Implement strategies to minimize the environmental impact of agricultural activities
• Education and Training:Conduct training sessions and workshops for farmers, agricultural extension officers, and other stakeholders
• Disseminate information on best practices and new developments in agronomy
• Crop Monitoring:Monitor and assess crop growth, yield, and quality through regular field inspections and data analysis
• Implement strategies to mitigate risks related to weather, pests, and diseases
