Job Description

Analyse, plan and execute database migration projects (heterogeneous and homogeneous)

Provide effort estimation and POC for different database migration projects

Design migration strategies that optimize performance, reliability, and scalability

Develop scripts and tools for migrating data between different databases ensuring data integrity and security

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, system administrators, and project managers to ensure successful migrations

Perform testing and validation of migrated data and schema to guarantee accuracy and reliability

Create documentation including migration plans, technical specifications, and operational procedures

Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise during and after migrations

Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to database management and migration

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), Database Developer, or similar role with a focus on database migration projects

Expertise in SQL and creating stored procedures and triggers in different databases and experience working with various database platforms such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Shell scripting, etc., for automation and data manipulation tasks

Solid understanding of database architecture, data modelling, and data warehousing concepts

Experience with AWS or similar cloud technologies and their respective services like SCT, DMS, S3, RDS, Aurora etc

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment

Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), AWS certifications or equivalent are a plus
