Senior Engineer DevOps - Pune - Altimetrik

Responsibilities

• Be part of a global team of DevOps engineers in a highly agile DevOps environment, focused on efficient operation of daily activities, developer productivity and continuous improvement. for monitoring, automation and tools development.
• Work closely with the engineering and product leadership to architect solid technical design and approach to operations in a large- scale environment.
• Design, implement, and improve a continuous integration and delivery platform that drives both release velocity and code quality.
• Provide technical expertise for automation of deployment, maintenance, and management of AWS cloud- based production systems, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems.
• Assist in performing pre- assessments to help the customer begin the DevOps journey.
• Help in application on- boarding to the defined target operating model to achieve build release automation.
• Support developers during the software development process with tools and automation.
• Provide support for the tools and automation that the team develops.
• Take initiative to accomplish tasks involving communication/coordination with Support, Development and QA teams.
• High self- motivation and ability to learn multiple technologies and software applications with little supervision.
• Improve existing processes and/or develop new processes to improve efficiency where needed.

Should be flexible with night shift when required.

Skills

• Solid understanding of AWS Cloud and other Amazon provided services and products
• Strong networking and cloud computing fundamentals
• Strong knowledge / experience with EC2, AMI, AWS Load Balancers, Cloudformation, AutoScalingGroup, S3. Strong knowledge / experience with AWS Cloudwatch monitoring
• Knowledge of AWS Code pipeline
• Good to have knowledge of AWS CLI and Boto API framework
• Good to have AWS SysOps certification
• Good to have AWS Lambda or any server- less design exposure
• Exceptional team work as well as being able to work under own initiative
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills
• Experience with Agile SCRUM development methodologies

Qualification

BTech/BE/Masters in Engineering

Experience

Must have experience with:

• 4- 15 years hands- on Web Applications administration (Apache/Tomcat, Java applications, Web Service APIs)
• 3+ years relevant work experience in a high- volume and/or critical production service environment
• Good hands- on exposure in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery model(CI/CD)(Jenkins)
• Monitoring tools such as (Wily Introscope APM, Nagios, Grafana, Extra Hop )
• Splunk dashboard management
• Linux Systems administration (RHEL / CentOS or Debian preferred)
• Scripting languages like Python or Shell.
• Troubleshooting and handling web applications built on REST and web sites using DHTML (JS frameworks and CSS )
• Automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet is a plus
