SQL DBA @ A global leader

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, support, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Troubleshoot and optimize complex SQL queries and database performance.
• Configure and manage SQL Server AlwaysOn and Windows Failover Clustering.
• Handle installations, migrations, upgrades across SQL Server 2022/2019/2016/2014 environments.
• Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal database design and performance.
• Ensure database security, integrity, backup, and recovery procedures.
• Maintain detailed documentation of processes, configurations, and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7 to 13 years of experience in MS SQL Server database administration.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query tuning, and indexing strategies.
• Expertise in SQL Server architecture, internals, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AlwaysOn Availability Groups and Windows Failover Clustering.
• MS SQL Server Administration certification.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Masters degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or other DBMS platforms.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure or other cloud environments.
• Exposure to SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
• Scripting experience in PowerShell or Python.
• Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
