Role Overview:
We are seeking a Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance technology solutions across software delivery projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders, project managers, development teams, and external vendors to ensure architectural integrity, compliance, and alignment with business objectives. Experience in the transit and payments domain, with an emphasis on NCMC and card lifecycle management, will be considered a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into robust and scalable technical architectures.
- Define architecture blueprints and solution roadmaps in alignment with project scope and stakeholder expectations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure alignment of solution delivery with timelines, budgets, and resource planning.
- Lead requirement discussions and provide strategic guidance to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to standards, security, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations including PCI-DSS, EMVCo, and mandates from NPCI/VISA/Mastercard.
- Oversee system integration with banks, card management systems, and central switch providers.
- Guide database design (SQL and NoSQL), API frameworks, and system performance optimization.
- Support clearing, settlement, and reconciliation processes, including file format compliance.
- Drive innovation through adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and DevOps practices.
- Conduct technical reviews and post-implementation assessments for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale software solutions.
- 35 years of experience in payment systems, including NCMC/Rupay card lifecycle, ISO 8583, and transaction processing.
- Proficiency in architecting microservices and API-driven solutions.
- Strong experience with SQL and familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and version control tools like Git.
- Familiarity with reconciliation processes and clearing/settlement systems.
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks: PCI-DSS, EMVCo standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Microsoft Project, Zoho Projects).
Good to Have:
- Experience in the Transit domain, particularly in fare collection, ticketing, or transport smart card systems.
- Knowledge of smart card technologies used in transit systems, such as Calypso, MIFARE DESFire, and NCMC
- Certification from NPCI, EMVCo, or payment industry bodies.
- Experience integrating with fare management or transport operations platforms.
Preferred Certifications:
- TOGAF or other architecture certifications
- AWS/Azure/GCP Certified Architect
- PCI-DSS or EMVCo compliance training
- PMP, Scrum Master, or Product Owner certifications
