Data Analyst Power BI @ CGI

Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

• Expert in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and dashboard optimization).
• Proficient in SQL and working with relational databases or data lakes.
• Experience in using Python or equivalent data for automation and analytics.
• Solid understanding of data visualization principles, KPI frameworks, and executive reporting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good to have - Familiarity with Clarity PPM (Project & Portfolio Management tool).
• Good to have - Working knowledge of Anaplan (for financial modeling and scenario planning).

Direct Responsibilities

• Dashboard Design & Development: Build executive-ready dashboards in Power BI to visualize KPIs, metrics, and strategic trends.
• Data Integration & Modeling: Leverage SQL, Power BI, and data pipelines to model and prepare data for analysis.
• Advanced Analytics & Automation: Use Python or equivalent tools for data transformation, automation, and advanced analytics.
• Cross-Functional Engagement: Work with teams across IT Strategy, PMO, Finance, Governance, and Delivery to consolidate insights.
• Data Storytelling: Communicate complex analytics clearly through visual storytelling tailored for CIO-level stakeholders.
• Tool Integration: Pull and consolidate data from tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Clarity, Anaplan, and Excel.
• Best Practices & Innovation: Promote analytics best practices and help define standards for visualization and data interpretation.

Contributing Responsibilities

• Governance Alignment: Ensure alignment with enterprise data governance, compliance, and reporting standards.
