Job Description
As a Database Administrator - Senior, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting day-to-day operations with large-scale, highly available, reliable, high-performing databases hosted in distributed datacenters
- Analyzing and improving the existing database architecture
- Being a liaison for database-related problems between operations, architecture, development, and QA groups
- Maintaining high availability of DB infrastructure
- Managing orchestration and configuration of DB infrastructure
- Solving issues with linux systems and cloud infrastructure housing our databases with SA help
- Creating and maintaining documentation that is relevant to your role and duties
- Nice to have:
- Familiarity with ClickHouse in the areas of database administration
- Willingness to learn & become proficient with the ClickHouse and all DBA duties associated with it.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Have substantial DBA experience with deployment, configuration, management, and support of highly available systems
- Show proficiency in all aspects of database administration including install, setup, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, replication and proactive monitoring
- Have working Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases like Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, & Redis - as well as best practices and data modeling
- Have experience working on installation, configuration, capacity management, administration of various NoSQL and RDBMS databases
- Have experience with Linux system administration as needed for DBA
- Be familiar with scripting languages such as Python or shell
- Be familiar with CI/CD, Docker & Version Control Systems such as Git and Perforce
- Be a good team player and able to collaborate with people from across the business
- Be willing to expand your knowledge of other database technologies and passion for pushing the limits
