Batteries Tech Lead
Job Role Responsible :Battery Development and Validation for Electric 2-Wheeler &
Homologation
Academic Qualification BE/BTech, ME/MTech (Electrical / Electronics)
Work Experience and Industry:6-8 Years
Location :Hyderabad, Telangana
Technical Skills: -
- Working Experience on EV 2W batteries.
- Working experience of different types of Cell chemistry NMC, NCA, LFP etc. and their detailed characteristics.
- Experience in different form factors like prismatic and cylindrical cells
- Advanced EV battery pack design and development (Pack and Component Design) -HV and LV Packs
- Structural and Thermal management Designing of the battery pack and other auxiliary systems.
- Know how BMS hardware and software control is expected
- Strong knowledge of passive and active cooling systems.
- Cell tab joining includes bolting, laser welding, spot welding, and wire bonding selection processes.
- Calculation of Busbar thickness and design.
- Experience in Battery pack mechanical testing
- Become familiar with Indian Automotive Standards, BOM preparation, and cost optimization.
- Working experience of testing equipment like Newari, chroma etc.
- Strong Knowledge in DFMEA, DFM&A, DVP, VA/VE
- Liaising with testing agencies for Certifications (ICAT, ARAI, etc.)
- Knowledge about Indian Automotive Standards (AIS-156, AIS-038, IP Ratings etc.) & experience handling the regulatory requirements.
- Secure essential certifications, optimize cost, and resolve field issues
- Cross-functional team Interactions (design development, Manufacturing and Supply chain)
- Assisting the manufacturing and process team for scale-up of the battery pack production.
- Lead the design of portable battery packs from concept to production, obtain certifications, and assist in production setup
- Apply design expertise in areas such as extrusion housing, sheet metal design, and injection-molded parts
- Conduct root-cause analysis, manage documentation, and collaborate with internal and external teams.
- Engage in supplier interactions and testing facility visits, prepared excel calculators, and contributed to die[1]casted housing design.
- Perform thermal and electrical analysis, create GD&T drawings, explore thermal management strategies, and develop prototypes.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
- Strong in Technical Decision making.
