Technical Support Engineer @ Amazon

Job Description

Basic Qualifications -

1) Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 2+ years of experience data operations, technical support or data engineering roles.

2) Good understanding of DW / BI / ETL concepts and hands-on experience managing and supporting large-scale datasets across enterprise data warehouse platforms like Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.

3) Proficient in SQL and Scripting ability in at least one language such as Python / Scala / Shell / Unix etc., coupled with strong troubleshooting / debugging and problem-solving skills.

4) Well-versed in support operations, including ticketing systems, monitoring tools, processes, and performance metrics to ensure high service reliability.

5) Excellent communication skills with a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a consistent ability to follow through on tasks independently.

Preferred Qualifications -

1) Good to have experience with AWS technologies stack including Redshift, RDS, S3, EMR or similar solutions build around Hive/Spark etc.

2) Good to have experience with reporting tools like Tableau, OBIEE or other BI packages.

3) Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle is a plus.
