Job Description
We are hiring for a renowned bank in the US, partnered with TO THE NEW.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure & IT Operations, the Sr. Cloud Engineer works with
internal IT, business, and 3 rd party suppliers to architect/design and implement cutting-edge
infrastructure solutions, in MS Azure/AWS cloud in a hands-on capacity. This position works
as an in-house resource to define future infrastructure technology initiatives aligned with the
business requirements, SaaS/Cloud First approach and leads all projects and discussions related
to On-prem and Cloud infrastructure. The role also requires the ability to lead & conduct
solutions discovery exercises with internal stakeholders/vendors, and excellent interpersonal
and presentation skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent analysis and assessment of ABC Banks existing Cloud footprint to identify any gaps or issues, and recommend and implement necessary changes as per Cloud best practices related to security, hardening and cost management etc.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and best practices is essential, including experience with coding for infrastructure provisioning, maintainin CI/CD pipelines, and using source control tools. Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools is a plus.
- Develop and refine solutions and services for Cloud Landing zones, focusing on Azure landing zones
- Develop, document, and maintain Azure Tenant, subscriptions strategy, and Landing Zone concepts
- Drive and lead On-prem to Cloud migration of existing On-prem ABC systems while minimizing the technical debt and costs during project life
- Create an infrastructure automation pipeline to deliver Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) and build/manage workflows to create immutable infrastructure (Golden Images)
- Configure IAM policies, security groups and roles as per the Azure best practices
- Monitor the infrastructure and develop utilization reports for fine tuning, cost management and continuous enhancements and improvements
- Provide complete operational and administrative support including cost and billing management for the Cloud platforms
- Participate in Disaster Recovery exercise, review lessons learned and make appropriate changes to the environment
- Produce and maintain all required artifacts, documentation, and architectural design diagrams
- Make recommendations to improve process efficiency and effectiveness; lead cost saving initiatives, define/uphold architectural design standards and configurations to ensure consistency, maintainability, and flexibility with respect to overall system, technical and product roadmaps
- Keeps up to date with emerging cloud technology open source and cloud vendors such as Azure to build scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems
- Available to support after hours deployments, production issues/outages and emergency situations when required
Requirements -
- Any Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics from a reputable University, or equivalent industry experience
- Azure Architect certification is preferred
- Proficient with presentation and drawing tools such as PowerPoint and Visio
- Proficient knowledge of various Cloud services, Micro Services design, and technology
- operations
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking as well as Cloud Load Balancers, Route53/DNS, Security Groups, VPCs, VPN/API Gateways, Elastic IPs, Subnets, Route tables, RDS, NAT configuration and security best practices for cloud
- Knowledge/Expertise to allow connectivity from other systems (Informatica-SaaS, Tableau online (SaaS), Salesforce (SaaS), on-prem databases/filesystems) to resources within ABC AWS environment (Azure BLOB, S3, Redshift, etc.)
- Experienced with Serverless technologies such as Azure Functions
- Experience with DevOps & CI/CD pipeline tools and infrastructure Blue/Green deployment automation streamlining AMI maintenance and management
- Previous working experience with a solution provider in a professional services capacity Preferred
- Minimum 10 years industry experience with 4-5 years of Cloud experience
