Job Description
Role: Commodity Lead
Location: Bangalore (Electronic City)

Qualification:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
Experience:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned commodities (e.g., Metal Machining, Sheet Metal, OEM, COTS and plastics).
- Identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
- Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage suppliers globally and locally.
- Drive supplier performance through KPIs on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts.
- Ensure favorable conditions and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Monitor market trends, raw material pricing, and geopolitical risks.
- Proactively adapt strategies based on supply chain dynamics
- Work closely with engineering, quality, production, and finance teams.
- Participate in new product development and cost estimation exercises.
- Track cost drivers and deliver year-over-year savings.
- Use TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and should-cost modeling tools.
Technical Skillset
- Proven negotiation and supplier development skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and sourcing tools (e.g., Ariba, Jaggaer).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Global sourcing experience in manufacturing or semiconductor sectors.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, VA/VE, and cost modeling.
