Ciscos DCN (Data Center Networking) Engineering group is responsible for developing and maintaining network controller software as part of Ciscos suite of software-defined networking (SDN) solutions. The group focuses on creating advanced, intelligent controllers that enable more agile, secure, and scalable management of network infrastructure. Cisco revolutionizes the way we connect, communicate, and collaborate. We have consistently been at the forefront of IP-based networking technology innovation, covering a vast spectrum that includes routing, switching, security, unified communications, video solutions, and wireless networking. Your Impact
You will play a pivotal role in the testing and advancement of our innovative network controller software. Your technical expertise will contribute to the ongoing evolution of our intent-based networking solutions, ensuring they meet the complex and dynamic needs of modern networks. Additional job responsibilities for this Technical Leader are listed below.
- Support the design, development and validation of new platforms and features for Ciscos DCN software.
- Collaborate with various teams to integrate network control, automation, and analytics capabilities into the product.
- Contribute to the architecture and design discussions, advocating for quality to be inbuilt for customer success.
- Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, and reusable automation code that aligns with Ciscos standards. Implement robust automated testing strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of the ACI software.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in SDN, network automation, and cloud computing to inform product development.
- Resolve technical issues in collaboration with the development, support and operations teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in STEM with 7+ years of relevant experience or Master s in STEM with 4+ years of relevant experience
- Experience testing Networking Switches and Routers
- Python programming experience
- Networking experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies, including troubleshooting, configuration, and optimization
- Experience with requirements analysis, test strategy, planning and testbed design
Preferred Qualifications
- Master s degree in computer science
- Experience with hardware, optics testing and platform software testing
- Design and implementation experience of any end-to-end automation systems
- Experience in software testing, software-defined networking
- Experience with network technologies such as VXLAN and VLAN, OSPF or BGP
- Desire to learn new skills and technologies
