Role & responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize microbial products through solid and submerged fermentation techniques.
- Oversee microbial laboratory protocols in line with ISO standards
- Oversee and expand the bio-fertilizer factory and production center.
- Oversee and produce microbial-based and plant-based formulation for biological agricultural inputs, in line with regulation and international standards
- Identify plant and crop pathogens/soil-borne pathogens and provide adequate bio-solutions for remedy and/or prevention.
- Manage R&D operations for large-scale production of microbial formulations.
- Collaborate with business and marketing teams to identify product-market fit and position microbial inputs for organic and sustainable agriculture.
- Interface with regulatory and certification authorities (ISO 9001, NOP, NPOP) for compliance, documentation, and audits.
- Act as a key liaison between research, production, and sales teams to align technical specifications with commercial deliverables.
- Evaluate raw material sourcing and vendor development based on technical performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Support technical sales with data-driven insights, field performance trials, and customer education on microbial solutions.
- Draft project proposals, manage timelines, and deliver outcomes in line with funding objectives.
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international symposia.
Preferred candidate profile
- Ph.D. in Microbiology with specialization in biocontrol and microbial biotechnology.
- Proven track record in product innovation and commercial scale-up in agri-biotech.
- Experience in managing international projects and coordinating with certification bodies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to translate science into business.
- Proficient in scientific tools, research documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
