1.5. Job Description
The Sub-Editor cum Documentation Expert will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and organizing content related to electoral studies and democracy. The role includes developing high-quality documentation, digitizing election-related data, and curating content for a digital knowledge resource centre.
1.6. Job responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the job include the following
(i) Content Editing and Quality Review - Edit and refine research papers, case studies, reports, and knowledge materials to ensure clarity, consistency, and professional standards.
(ii) Documentation and Archiving - Collect, document, and archive key data, events, and publications related to election management and democratic processes for institutional use.
(iii) Digital Resource Centre Development - Support the creation and maintenance of a digital repository by organizing digitized materials and metadata for easy access and reference.
(iv) Support Research Outputs - Assist research teams in transforming raw research into structured, publishable content including reports, policy briefs, and summaries.
(v) Content Development for Fellowships and Internships Prepare orientation material, program summaries, and documentation for scholarship, internship, and fellowship programmes.
1.7. Skills & Competencies
(i) Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
(ii) Skills in academic and policy-style documentation
(iii) Skills in organizing digital content and metadata
(iv) Attention to detail and consistency in language and formatting
(v) Ability to work with research and editorial teams collaboratively
1.8. Desirables
(i) Experience in content development or publishing in electoral studies or governance
(ii) Exposure to managing digital libraries or online content platforms
(iii) Knowledge of referencing styles (APA, MLA, etc.) and academic formatting
(iv) Experience working with think tanks, research institutions, or electoral bodies
(v) Competency in tools like MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems
