1.5. Job Description
The Technology Research Associate will support the School of Technology for Elections in research and analysis, training and capacity building programs on Electoral Technology and ICT in elections. The role involves facilitating learning for election officials, promoting research and tech-driven innovations in electoral processes, and ensuring academic rigor in all capacity-building initiatives.
1.6. Job responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the job include the following:
(i) Technology Research & Innovation Support Undertake and assist in research and innovation projects and initiatives related to Electoral Technology (ET) including information technology, focusing on emerging tools, innovations, and applications in the domain of democracy and election management.
(ii) Curriculum and Content Development Contribute to the development of technical training content, modules, and case studies for various courses that reflect the latest advancements in electoral technology and its practical applications.
(iii) Technical Support in ICT Training Assist in planning and delivering ICT training programmes for election officials and stakeholders, including the use of election management software and new application platforms as part of the training of election officials.
(iv) Design and Delivery of ICT Training Modules Develop, update, and deliver training modules on election related software and ICT tools used in election management, including simulation-based and e-learning content.
1.7. Skills & Competencies
(i) Strong analytical and research skills in IT and technology-based solutions,
(ii) Skills to prepare technical reports, presentations, and training documentation,
(iii) Skills in latest technological advances such as artificial intelligence, social media
(iv) Skills and Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical, hands-on learning
1.8. Desirables
(i) PhD (pursuing or completed) in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology and related fields,
(ii) Experience in electoral systems, voting technologies and ICT tools for democracy and election management,
(iii) Experience in research and publication of papers in ICT/ e-Governance/ electoral technology,
(iv) Publication or participation in technology innovation forums or journals,
(v) Certification in Training, Instructional Design, or Learning Technologies.

About the School
The School of Technology in Elections at IIIDEM specializes in areas of digitalization and democracy and election management. The activities will encompass application of Information Technology and other technologies to make election management more transparent, accurate, cost-effective, and voter-friendly. The School will also work in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Public Infrastructure in the field of democracy and election management.
The School will offer various program and initiatives in the field of information technology, digitalization and election management both at its campus as well in partnership with other universities and institutions both at national and international level. The School will support other Centres and Schools of IIIDEM in their program offerings by integrating the subjects related to technology in elections.
