1.5. Job Description
The Head Media and Communication will be responsible for planning and executing communication strategies that enhance IIDEMs visibility, promote its training and research initiatives, and strengthen stakeholder engagement. The role involves leadership in media relations, branding, social media outreach, production of IEC materials, and coordinating awareness campaigns aligned with electoral education.
1.6. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities of the job include the following:
(i) Strategic Communication & Branding Develop and implement integrated communication strategies to strengthen IIDEMs institutional brand and visibility across platforms.
(ii) Media Management & Outreach Oversee media relations including press coverage, digital engagement, and regular updates on IIDEMs website and social media channels.
(iii) IEC Production & Dissemination Lead the development of training films, brochures, newsletters, and other multimedia material in multiple languages, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
(iv) Awareness Campaigns & Events Organize and promote voter education events and campaigns in collaboration with relevant Wings and Centres.
(v) Content Monitoring & Documentation Monitor election-related media coverage, document activities of IIDEM, and manage publication of institutional reports and promotional content.
1.7. Skills & Competencies
(i) Strong leadership and project management skills in media and communication functions
(ii) Expertise in branding, marketing strategy, and stakeholder engagement
(iii) Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi
(iv) Proficiency in managing multimedia content, social media platforms, and digital tools
(v) Ability to coordinate across departments and with external agencies for communication deliverables
1.8. Desirable
(i) Experience in designing and executing large-scale awareness campaigns, preferably in the governance or development sector
(ii) Experience in managing multilingual and multimedia content production including films, newsletters, and digital posts
(iii) Knowledge of electoral laws, processes, and familiarity with institutional communications in a government or public service environment
