Job Description

Role & respons

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management:
    • Oversee all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data.
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  2. Audit and Compliance:
    • Lead internal and external audits in India, ensuring compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), GST, Income Tax, and other local regulatory requirements.
    • Review audit findings, implement recommendations, and ensure timely resolution of audit issues.
    • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
    • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records, ensuring compliance with tax and audit requirements.
  3. Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting activities.
    • Ensure proper allocation of financial resources in accordance with strategic priorities.
    • Track departmental budgets and provide recommendations to control costs and enhance profitability.
  4. Payroll Compliance:
    • Accurate Salary Calculations: Ensuring employees are paid correctly based on their hours worked, overtime, commissions, bonuses, etc.
    • Deductions: Proper calculation and deduction of taxes (such as income tax), employee benefits (like insurance and retirement contributions), and other statutory deductions (e.g., Provident Fund, Gratuity, etc.).
    • Timely Payment: Ensuring salaries are disbursed within the prescribed timelines and employees are paid on time.
    • Payslip Generation: Providing employees with detailed payslip outlining their earnings, deductions, and net pay.
    • Taxation Compliance: Ensuring correct withholding tax rates and submitting the right tax documents to the authorities.
    • Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of employee payroll data as per legal requirements, including salary details, deductions, and tax filings.
  5. Statutory Compliance:
    • Labor Laws: Compliance with laws related to employee working conditions, wages, leave entitlements, and termination procedures.
    • Tax Compliance: Ensuring that taxes such as GST, Corporate Tax, Income Tax, and others are filed and paid on time.
    • Employee Benefits Compliance: Compliance with statutory benefits such as the Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Gratuity, and others mandated by law.
    • Health & Safety Regulations: Adhering to occupational health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Leave Entitlements: Complying with laws regarding employee leave such as annual leave, sick leave, maternity/paternity leave, etc.
    • Workplace Regulations: Ensuring compliance with laws regarding working hours, break times, and worker safety.
