Job Description
Position Title: Azure IaaS/PaaS Engineer | Experience Level: 3-5 Years | Location: GGN
Job Purpose:
As an Azure IaaS/PaaS Engineer, you will be essential in managing and deploying Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of Azure architecture and cloud solutions, ensuring our cloud infrastructure is robust, scalable, and aligns with our business goals. Responsibilities include managing and optimizing Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of applications and services. This involves developing and implementing automation solutions with PowerShell scripting to streamline Azure-related processes and working with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and maintain Azure resources. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise and support for Azure services, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance and cost-effectiveness to meet the evolving needs of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and resilient Azure IaaS environments, including virtual networks, virtual machines, and storage solutions.
- Monitor performance and optimize Azure infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
- Use Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Azure CLI for deployment automation.
- Implement and manage Entra ID services including user management, policies, and single sign-on.
- Design and implement Azure security measures such as network security groups, firewall rules, and encryption mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain PaaS solutions using Azure services like Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure SQL Database and CaaS services not limited to Azure Kubernetes and Azure Container Apps.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy applications on Azure, ensuring scalability and security best practices are followed.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automating routine Azure tasks such as resource deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
- Conduct regular assessments of Azure environments to identify vulnerabilities and enforce compliance with industry and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues in Azure environments.
- Evaluate and recommend Azure services and solutions to meet business requirements and performance objectives.
- Report security incidents and weaknesses observed immediately to the IS Manager.
- Follow client mandates, controls, and practices.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members on Azure best practices and tools.
- Internal: Participation in clients audits, 3rd party certification body audits, and internal audits; interacting for IT procurement and invoice processing.
- External: Ticket management and follow-through with external technology vendors.
Key Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Proven experience with Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, and PaaS Offerings
- Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate.
- Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Management
- PowerShell Scripting for Azure Automation
- Resource Deployment using Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/ARM/Terraform)
- Entra ID Management
- Azure Networking (Virtual Networks, Subnets, Load Balancers)
- Azure Security and Compliance
- Azure Resource Monitoring and Optimization
- Azure Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Azure DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies and container orchestration using Kubernetes etc
