About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced .NET Developer to join our team and maintain and enhance a legacy desktop application. This role demands a deep understanding of WinForms, VB.NET, VB6, and C#. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels in working independently, has strong conceptual and troubleshooting skills, and is comfortable diving into complex, older codebases to deliver timely improvements and fixes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, maintain, and enhance existing desktop applications built with WinForms, VB.NET, VB6, and C#.
• Debug and resolve issues in legacy systems while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Collaborate with team members, testers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver functional solutions.
• Provide architectural and design insights to support modernization efforts.
• Write clean, scalable code and technical documentation for legacy and updated components.
• Participate in regular status meetings and code reviews, aligning with Mountain Standard Time (MST) business hours.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of development experience with a significant focus on legacy technologies.
• Proficiency in VB.NET, VB6, WinForms, and C#.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, multi-tier architecture, and software debugging.
• Experience working with monolithic systems and large codebases.
• Comfortable navigating and enhancing legacy code with limited documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex issues and solutions clearly.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with tools used for code migration or modernization of legacy systems.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Understanding of performance tuning in desktop applications.
