ATE PLC Engineer

Job Description Summary:

  1. Reporting to the Team Leader, the ATE PLC Engineer will participate in a multidisciplinary team whose responsibilities include the design and development of software to test aerospace and defines products. The ATE PLC Engineer will be responsible for safety system design and development of high-performance test systems for acceptance testing of various types of products.
  2. This role will be focused on the design and development of safety system architecture, Control circuit, wiring in automated test equipment for aerospace products and systems, and interfacing multiple subsystems.
  3. The ATE PLC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring setup, programming, testing, and implementation of control systems used for production automation and industrial equipment design.
  4. The ATE PLC Engineer should assist in following:
    1. Understanding the Test rig safety needs and requirements
    2. Interfacing multiple subsystems
    3. Defining the best-suited safety system architectures with PLC system
    4. Hands-on experience in PLC programming and control systems.
    5. Select a suitable PLC controller and other safety modules
    6. Hands-on experience in dealing with PLC safety modules, limit switches, and other safety arrangements, ADC/DAC cards, etc.
    7. Experience in signal conditioning circuits and cable harness design
    8. Managing ATE application lifecycle data
  5. The ATE PLC Engineer should communicate technical issues through written, verbal, and presentation media
  6. Interfaces with the team working on Mechanical, software/hardware for the success of meeting project schedules

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's in Electronics/Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering with First Class
  2. 3-5 years of exclusive experience in Safety System Design. Experience in Aerospace preferred.
  3. Good Knowledge on PLC programming
  4. Good knowledge of Electrical schematics using MS Visio, OrCAD.
  5. Good problem-solving skills and hardware engineering practices
  6. Hands-on experience on various test equipment like PLC, Limit switches, Door Switches, Oil carts, Motors & Drive stand, etc.
  7. Knowledge in communications like Serial, Ethernet
  8. Good usage of tools like Version control, MS OFFICE
  9. Very Good Communication and Presentation Skills
